What even is Hardboard???

Question 2

I have never surfed, snowboarded or skated before! Can I still join Hardboard?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Yes! Yes! Many people join Hardboard not knowing how to surf and leave as surf gods! Learn how to wakeboard or skateboard during our weekly training moments, join the introduction or instruction weekends to get windsurf or kitesurf instruction, go on one of the trips we organize to practice wave surfing and snowboarding, or join a surfing day to practice your skills! Everyone is here to learn, encourage each other and have fun!

Can I join Hardboard if I only do one of the sports?

You can practice as many or as few sports as you like! Do you just want to join for the chill vibes and epic parties? Also possible! We are happy to have you :)

Question 4

How can a surfing association exist in Enschede?

Accepted Answer

While we live in Enschede, the water will always be close to our heart! Rutbeek is a lake closeby which allows us to wakeboard weekly. For wind-, kite- and wavesurfing we have a car and two trailers. Member organised surfing days frequently happen in the summer. These consist of a short road trip and surfing the day away!

Question 5

I don't have any surfing material! Is that a problem?

Accepted Answer

No! Members of Hardboard can rent or use all of our materials for as little as €2.50 a day. We have a wide range of materials for windsurfing, kitesurfing, wave surfing, wakeboarding, and skateboarding.  We also have several wetsuits for rent for those colder surfing days.
Having gear that is completely your own is very nice though! Especially things like a well-fitting wetsuit, neoprene boots, gloves or hood are such a treat on those colder days! If you get the surfing bug, they are worth investing in!

When does Hardboard surf or organize trainings/activities?

We put a lot of effort into making the Hardboard experience as diverse as we can! Over the years we have added sports, set up weekly training moments and hustled our way into great deals for our members.

Wakeboarding Monday 16.00 - 22.00 (April to June and September)
Skateboarding Monday (October - April)/Tuesday 19.30 - 23.00
WHENEVER THERE IS WIND/WAVES/SNOW
Whenever there is enough wind, big enough waves or a good layer of snow, members gather to go on day or weekend trips. These days/trips are usually planned by members and happen spontaneously :)
